You are already planning your dream trip to the Philippines, you have your flight and now only the best is missing. Where to stay in the Philippines? From a resort hotel or a boutique hotel, in Manila, El Nido or Corón, here you will find the best option for your stay.

Hotel in the Philippines
With the intention of making it very easy for you to find where to sleep in the Philippines, we show you the best options in two different and super intuitive ways. The first is this map of the Philippines where you can see, at once, all the hotels that we recommend on the web. If you have already been researching the country and some destinations ring a bell, it will help you easily visualize where each one is located. You will see that we have distinguished, using different icons, between luxury hotels, resorts or cheap accommodation in the Philippines.

Why book hotel in the Philippines in advance?

What we do is compare the different prices that are in them and, very important, read the recent reviews that other travelers have left. In this way we more or less make sure that we are going to be comfortable. Even so, the sites that we recommend in Traveling through the Philippines, since we take care of testing them and making sure they are good, will surely convince you. Therefore, below you will find a list of accommodation in the Philippines ordered by the most popular destinations.

For all these reasons, our recommendation is that you book your hotel in the Philippines well in advance, especially if you are thinking of traveling on dates with high demand. These are Easter, Chinese New Year, Christmas and local holidays. In addition, there are destinations such as El Nido, Coron or Siargao that are so popular almost at any time of the year that, if you do not want to stay with the worst and pay more than the bill, it is better to book at least one month before.
We advise you to always look at the cancellation policies of the accommodations. This is becoming more and more common, which is why most of the hotels in the Philippines already offer free cancellation. It is common that this can be done about 48 hours before your arrival at the accommodation, but you will have to look at it on a case-by-case basis.

Hotel in Malapascua:

It would not be unusual if one day, if you go to this small Philippine island, you find us there. He has us in love! The unique atmosphere, diving with the thresher shark or the excursion to the island of Kalanggaman are just some of the many reasons. These are two of our favorites:

Ocean Vida: Modern, clean and spacious rooms with sea views, a staff of 10, one of the best diving centers on the island and the terrace where we say goodbye to the day every afternoon while having a drink are some of the reasons that make of Ocean Vida one of the resorts in the Philippines in which we feel most comfortable. That yes, if you want to sleep in Malapascua in this lodging you will have to reserve with time that is very requested.

Evolution Dive and Beach Resort: Another great place to sleep in Malapascua. It also has a diving center, is located on the seafront and has modernly decorated rooms. His restaurant made us fall in love from the first time we went.

Hotel in Boracay

Since October 2018, the list of Boracay hotels has been significantly reduced to comply with the new ordinance. For this reason, before looking at other outdated websites, we recommend that you read our guide to find out which ones are authorized and in which areas of the island to look for accommodation.

357 Boracay Resort: This accommodation in Boracay is located in the quietest area of the famous White Beach, the main beach on the island. The service is excellent, the beautiful decoration is made from native products and its location is right on the beach. A great choice if you want to include one on what was the most famous beach in the country in your accommodation in the Philippines.

Shangri-La’s Boracay Resort and Spa: One of the most desired resorts in Boracay and also in accommodation in the Philippines in general. This luxurious hotel has the only private beach on the island, as well as private pools, bungalows with sea views, impeccable decoration... If you go on your honeymoon to the Philippines, you have to include it on your list.

Hotel in Siquijor

Siquijor has a special magic that catches you and also offers the most varied plans. Snorkeling, jumping from cliffs, unique sunsets, historic buildings, waterfalls, healers... There are different recommended accommodation areas in Siquijor.

Grove Beach Resort: This great resort is not as expensive as it might seem for everything it offers and that is why we always recommend it. We loved its rooms, spa, restaurants with a varied menu, service and, of course, the fact that it has direct access to the best snorkeling sanctuary on the entire island. Very good choice of accommodation in the Philippines if your travel route passes through Siquijor.

White Villas Resort: Our favorite lodging in the Solangon area. It has a swimming pool, large and clean rooms, free kayaks for customers, it is on the beach and it is located in a central area but without being in the middle of the noise. In fact, you have a full review of our stay here.

Hotel in Romblon

Romblon is one of the “new jewels” in the crown and little by little it offers more and more options to sleep. In Where to sleep in Romblon you can get more information, but for now you can see what you think of these two options:

Romblon Fun Divers & Inn: Recently built, it has quickly earned a place among the best hotels in Romblon for value for money. Near the city center and just 3 kilometers from the famous Bonbon Beach, it also has a diving center.

Stone Creek House: A wonderful apartment in the heart of Romblon. When we got there we booked for 3 days and ended up spending more than a week. A place where you feel at home. Carlos, the owner, is a sweetheart and will make your visit much easier. An accommodation in the Philippines without a doubt to take into account if you pass through this island.

Hotel in Cebu

Cebu is the second city in the country and you will surely pass through here to go to another destination. These are the two that we usually use the most.

Big Dreams Residences: We have already lost count of the times this has been our accommodation in the Philippines. The rooms have beds for 2 and 3 people, air conditioning, fridge, television and their location is ideal both to discover the city and to be near the port. The staff is wonderful and there is a shopping center nearby where you can have a delicious pizza for dinner.

Quest Hotel & Conference Center: If you are looking for something with a higher level, more central, with a swimming pool, and a good restaurant, but without throwing the house out the window. This is an excellent choice.

Hotel in Moalboal

Moalboal is the perfect excuse to fully explore the island of Cebu. There awaits you great diving, beautiful snorkeling and the most famous waterfalls in the Philippines. Take a look at these proposals:

Tongo Hill Cottages: This accommodation was opened in August 2018 and Instagram started to burn. Their pretty bamboo huts look great in any photo and are super cosy. Located on a hill with views, the room includes breakfast and its spectacular open bathroom has views of the stars.

Quo Vadis Dive Resort: A successful accommodation option in Moalboal, especially if you plan to dive. The rooms are spacious and clean and it has its own dive center.

Hotel in Bantayan

If you are going to enjoy a day at the beach on this island, what better way to have a good place to sleep in Bantayan at the end of the day. Let's see what you think of these two proposals:

Jelly's Haven Resort: Spacious rooms next to a very good beach area that make this accommodation one of the most recommended to spend a few days in Bantayan.

Anika Island Resort: This beautiful hotel with a swimming pool, large rooms and gardens to relax in is a very good choice. You just have to keep in mind that it is somewhat far from the restaurant area and you will need to use some means of transportation to go out to dinner.

Hotel in Singapore

Siargao is one of those places that, when choosing your accommodation in the Philippines, you have to do it with time since the best ones tend to fill up. Here are two that you might like:

Villa Pagoda Resort: Don't trust the photos on their website too much, it seems that the photographer was not very inspired that day. For a Siargao, it offers very good value for money. It is located in the nerve center of the island and has direct access to the beach.

Sandy Feet Siargao: Beautiful resort in Siargao that does not reach the outrageous prices of the competition. Its decoration is simple but beautiful and its architecture is modern, bright and spacious. Very well located on the first line

Quick Travel guide to the Phillippines

Some tips to enjoy your travel to this amazing destination and how to choose your Hotel.

Visa for the Philippines

The visa to travel to the Philippines is an important issue when preparing your adventure, and for this reason it could not be missing from this complete guide to the Philippines. In the event that your stay in the country is less than 30 days, you should not worry at all, as we told you in the article on the Visa for the Philippines, because once you land in the Philippines, your passport will be stamped so that you can stay for 30 days. The cost of this visa is free.
If you plan to stay a longer season exploring the country, you will need to carry out the extension of the visa for the Philippines. There are different ways to get it. From Spain it is possible to do it and thus forget about having to look for immigration offices in the middle of the trip. The 3-month, single-entry visa costs €27, the 6-month visa costs €54, and the 1-year visa costs €81. Doing the visa extension directly in the Philippines is slightly more expensive but, unlike in Spain, where you will need more than one visit to the office, in the Philippines you will only have to go through it once and you will have it resolved in less than half an hour.
Also, if the idea of extending your stay is something that you already have in mind when you land in the country, you can apply for the Philippines visa extension at the airport itself before collecting your luggage. In this case you will have to pay 3,130 pesos for 59 days.

Who can travel to the Philippines now as a tourist?
Travelers vaccinated with the complete schedule (14 days must have passed since the last dose) and present a negative PCR performed within 48 hours of departure or an antigen test within the previous 24 hours. From May 30, those who have the booster dose will not even have to be tested. As before, it will also be necessary to have a passport with a minimum validity of 6 months and to have an exit ticket from the Philippines.
What does all this mean? We explain it to you in the following points.
1. What does vaccinated travelers mean for the Philippines? What vaccines do you accept?
You have been vaccinated with 2 doses of one of the vaccines that require 2 for the full schedule and two or more weeks have passed since the last dose.
Has been vaccinated with 1 dose for single-dose vaccines (Janssen) and at least 2 weeks have passed since inoculation.
The Philippines accepts vaccines approved for emergency use by the World Health Organization (you can see the list here) and those from the FDA (you can see them at this link).
Children under 12 years of age do not have to be vaccinated. They will follow the protocols of their parents.
What type of vaccination certificate does the Philippines accept?
The WHO certificate (the little yellow book).
The VaxCertPH, that is, the Philippines vaccination certificate.
Vaccination certificates from national governments.

The weather in the Philippines. What is the best season to travel?

This is one of the questions that you usually ask us the most. As it is a country with a tropical climate, there is a very correct guideline response, but it can never be considered exact. The best time to travel to the Philippines in terms of weather is from December to May, when the dry season takes place in most of the archipelago. This means that the probability of rain is much lower in areas such as Palawan, Visayas or Luzon, but in no case does it guarantee that a downpour will not fall at some point.
The rainy season in the Philippines takes place between June and November in most of the country. This increases the probability of showers and the appearance of typhoons, but is fully compatible with moments of sun and beach. As you can see, the weather in the Philippines is largely a matter of chance. You should also keep in mind that, being such a large country and with such distant areas, there are places with different microclimates. In Siargao, for example, it is usually the dry season in the months of July and August, when it rains in much of the country.
A very useful way to find out what the weather is like in the Philippines is by consulting the official PAGASA government website or its Facebook page, where the weather situation in each area of the country is continuously updated.

What language is spoken in the Philippines
More than 170 languages are spoken in the Philippines, but there are only two official languages: Filipino and English. Yes, you read correctly, English is the official language in the Philippines and, thanks to this, the vast majority of Filipinos speak it perfectly. Do not worry if you do not speak English, that is not an impediment to travel to the Philippines, as they are a very friendly people and, even if it is based on signs or using translation apps, you will not have a problem.
Spanish is hardly spoken in the Philippines anymore. Only some older people remember something from when they studied it in school, but something that will surely surprise you when traveling through the Philippines is that many of the words they use are a legacy of 300 years of Spanish colonialism. Therefore, if you decide to travel to the Philippines, you will frequently hear “fork”, “spoon”, “table”, “chair” or “handsome”. Also, many of the numbers are exactly the same as ours. Many times you will meet Filipinos who are unaware that these words come from Spanish and will be shocked if they see you start counting “one, two, three, four, five…” in what they think is just their language.
